The Alocasia is commonly known as the Elephants Ear and comes in many varieties, this one being the Alocasia Black Velvet. This plant has deep green to black leaves with a silvery vein. The leaf resembles and feels like velvet. This plant enjoys a bright spot with morning or non-direct sun and will die off to two to three leaves in the cooler months.
